SmalleyLocking rings hoopster type HHMU/HHU and HHM/HH
HOOPSTER locking rings
The Hoopster HHMU/HHU and HHM/HH range of retaining rings have been designed to retain mechanical components where space is an issue.
It is therefore recommended for applications where groove depths are shallow due to space constraints. It is suitable for light to medium loads and has optional removal features.
Hoopster retaining rings have a very low radial projection and provide a removable shoulder in thin-walled assemblies such as cylinders.
From high-quality locking rings to stamped products
Hoopster snap rings are manufactured by winding from flat wire, not by stamping. They are square-edged and single-turn.
The Hoopster ring range is offered as standard in materials such as carbon steel and 302 stainless steel. However, if your application has special requirements, such as diameter, ring size or finish, specific rings can be designed at no tooling cost.
Special parts can be offered in diameters from 0.157” to 120” and 4 mm to 3000 mm.
Similarly, prototypes can be produced quickly for large or small volume orders, and adjustments to designs can be made easily throughout the production process.
Locking rings with and without dismantling device
Hoopster internal locking rings are available with or without a disassembly device. However, this is strongly recommended if easy removal is desired.
Models without a removal device are marked with a “U”.
HHU rings are available in inch sizes, with diameters ranging from 0.375″ to 3″.
HHMU rings are metric, with diameters ranging from 10 mm to 76 mm.
