SmalleyLeaf springs LS
LS corrugated leaf springs are made from flat wire corrugated with spring materials.
They function as pre-loading devices with roughly the same force and stroke characteristics as corrugated springs. Axial force is obtained by installing the corrugated leaf spring on a flat linear surface.
Typically used for applications such as shaft preloads positioned inside grooves so as to snap a rotating element into a specific position, or for vane pumps, LS leaf springs offer several advantages:
Firstly, LS leaf springs offer users greater reliability and better performance than stamped products.
Secondly, because they are made entirely from pre-tempered raw materials, they run no risk of deformation during any hardening heat treatment.
There are over 200 standard model sizes, available in carbon steel or 17-7 stainless steel. However, if these materials don’t meet the requirements of your application, a number of specific materials are available, including Inconel X-750 or Elgiloy, which have excellent resistance to corrosive environments and high temperatures, or beryllium copper, which has high mechanical strength and resistance to high temperatures.
What’s more, because we know how important it is to ensure correct assembly and optimum operation when testing prototypes, we also offer cost-effective, customized prototypes that can be delivered quickly without major investment.
Likewise, we offer customized design without additional tooling costs.
Finally, LS leaf springs can also be supplied to any desired length, or as a continuous coil that can be cut to length by the user.

Linear springs operate as a load bearing device with approximately the same load and deflection characteristics as a wave spring.
Axial pressure is obtained by laying the linear spring flat in a straight line.
