      RIVELITStandard blind rivet

Blind rivets can be used for fast and robust assembly of parts with different thicknesses and made from different materials with access from only one side.
      The most commonly used.Economical.

Rivelit’s standard blind rivet, also known as a “stem break”, is a high-performance, permanent fastener. It enables the assembly of several parts.

It is called a “blind” rivet because it allows assembly of parts accessible only from one side of the parts to be joined. The two parts to be joined must be pre-drilled.

It consists of 2 parts : the rivet body and the rivet stem or nail.

      Principles of use :

Setting a blind rivet requires the use of a tool.
This tool can be manual, oleopneumatic or electric, depending on the type of rivet to be set and the type of application.

The standard blind rivet is inserted into the hole in the parts to be joined. The setting tool pulls the blind rivet stem, deforming the rivet body and stressing the parts and plates to join the parts securely together. When the breaking force is reached, the rivet stem breaks at the break point and is simply discarded.

How to choose the right rivet?

Installing rivets is easy. To ensure success, all you need to do is choose the right rivet.

To do this, you need to ask yourself 5 questions:

      • What should the rivet diameter and rivet body material be ? The hole diameter is directly related to the rivet diameter. The rivet diameter, on the other hand, is determined by the strength required for the application.
      • What nail material do I need ? This will depend on the degree of corrosion resistance recommended.
      • What rivet head do I need ? A countersunk head will enable flush assembly, a flat head will provide the best mechanical resistance, and a wide head is ideal for better distribution of the clamping force and to avoid any deformation of the parts to be assembled. The choice is yours !
      • How long should the rivet be ? It depends on the total thickness to be crimped.
