      A superior alternative to Belleville washers

      Wavo ®, RW corrugated springs are single-turn springs made from round-section wire.

      They produce extremely high loads while retaining the precise loading found in corrugated springs.

      Wavo ® RW is a superior alternative to Belleville washers.

      It provides similar loads but with a precise and predictable spring rate.

      Similarly, its design allows it to occupy only 25% of the radial space of a Belleville washer. It is therefore suitable for operation in extremely tight radial and axial spaces that require very high force.

      The Wavo® RW spring also provides a high but precise force with greater deflection than Belleville washers.

      In a mechanical assembly, its preload force also reduces or eliminates vibration.

      Finally, it compensates for play in assembled components due to thermal expansion.

      A wide range of applications

      The Wavo ® RW round wire spring is used in many applications, such as :

      • Variable pulleys. Compression of the Wavo ® spring through the pulley halves produces pressure on the belt while the top threaded cap rotates to adjust the compression.
      • In vibration isolators. The Wavo ® spring is used to provide precise and predictable curves in the isolator, damping vibrations caused by the operation of the equipment.
      • In axial piston pumps. The Wavo ® spring can provide a high load and high compressive force to tapered roller bearings.

      The Wavo® spring is available in carbon steel or 17-7 PH SS stainless steel.

      Dimensions are in inches, with diameters ranging from 0.5 to 6″.
